This hike crosses a field before entering the forest via an old forest road. Turn around… the view is magnificent! Follow this path, which climbs moderately but steadily. You’ll come to a sign pointing to a side trail leading to a lookout point on your left; it’s not worth the detour because the view is obstructed. The summit isn’t far now and is wooded. You’ll need to continue past the summit, where you’ll discover two superb panoramic views: one of the High Peaks with the slag heaps of the old mine in the foreground, and the other of the Champlain Bridge and Vermont.
It’s especially beautiful in the fading light at the end of the day. A real favorite !
Take this opportunity to explore Belfry Mountain, which is nearby.
Enjoy your hike !
