Accès : Cranberry lake Campground mais on peut également y accéder par la Route 3 (East connector trail) pour une randonnée plus longue.
Départ de la randonnée du large stationnement près de l'air de camping # 28.
Une montée progressive dans une magnifique forêt menant à un sommet boisé. Sans difficulté technique, bien balisée, la montée vers le sommet est adoucie par un sentier en lacets. Pour avoir une vue, il faut poursuivre et compléter la boucle. Le sentier continuera à descendre modérément jusqu’à un belvédère rocheux offrant le point de vue unique de cette randonnée sur l'impressionnant lac Cranberry. Le sentier descend ensuite en pente raide à quelques endroits après le belvédère avant de revenir sur un plateau. Une légère montée avant la descente finale vous ramènera aux routes du camping pour le dernier kilomètre de marche.
J'ai trouvé cette randonnée chère payée. Si vous envisagez de vous y rendre, prenez une nuit de camping à cet endroit pour visiter la région et allez effectuer la randonnée de Cathedral rock menant à une tour d'incendie à environ 15 minutes de voiture.

The hike begins at the large parking lot near campsite #28.
A gradual ascent through a beautiful forest leads to a wooded summit. With no technical difficulties and well-marked, the climb to the summit is made easier by a winding trail. To enjoy the view, you must continue on and complete the loop. The trail continues to descend gently to a rocky lookout offering the hike’s unique view of the impressive Cranberry Lake. The trail then descends steeply in a few places past the lookout before returning to a plateau. A slight climb before the final descent will bring you back to the campground roads for the last kilometer of the hike.
I found this hike well worth the effort. If you’re planning to go there, spend a night camping at this site to explore the area and take the Cathedral Rock hike leading to a fire tower about a 15-minute drive away.
